PayHajj (“PayHajj”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a savings and payment facilitation application designed to help users plan and pay for Hajj and Umrah expenses in a gradual and secure manner.

Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we do and do not collect, how we use limited non-sensitive data, and how third-party providers handle sensitive information.


1. Our Core Privacy Principle: Data Minimization

PayHajj is built on a strict data-minimization model.

We do not store, process, or retain sensitive personal or financial data.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • BVN (Bank Verification Number)
  • NIN (National Identification Number)
  • Passport details
  • Biometric data
  • Full card details
  • Bank login credentials

2. Identity Verification & Sensitive Data Handling

Any identity verification or compliance checks required are handled entirely by our third-party verification provider, Veriglobe.

  • Sensitive identity data is submitted directly to Veriglobe
  • PayHajj never receives or stores BVN, NIN, ID images, or biometric data
  • All verification systems operate under Veriglobe’s security and compliance infrastructure

PayHajj only receives confirmation results (e.g. verified / not verified), not the underlying sensitive data.


3. Payments & Financial Transactions

All payments made on PayHajj are processed via Paystack and regulated Nigerian banking partners.

  • PayHajj does not store:
    • Card numbers
    • CVV codes
    • PINs
    • Bank account login details
  • Payment data is handled directly by Paystack under PCI-DSS compliant systems
  • We only receive transaction references, amounts, and statuses

4. Data We Do Collect (Non-Sensitive Only)

We collect only what is strictly necessary to operate the app:

  • Name or display name
  • Email address or phone number
  • Transaction references (non-banking)
  • Wallet balances within PayHajj
  • App usage data (for stability and fraud prevention)
  • Flight or ticket preferences (non-passport data)

This data cannot be used to access your bank account or identity records.


5. Use of Data

We use non-sensitive data strictly to:

  • Operate and maintain the PayHajj wallet
  • Process savings contributions
  • Facilitate Hajj/Umrah-related payments (e.g. flights, logistics)
  • Provide customer support
  • Prevent fraud and misuse
  • Comply with lawful requests where required

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.


6. Flights, Tickets & Third-Party Services

When issuing or reserving flights, accommodation, or tickets:

  • Only non-sensitive booking data is used
  • Passport and travel documents (if required) are handled by licensed travel partners
  • PayHajj does not store passport scans or visa documents

7. Data Storage & Security

  • All stored data is encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Access is restricted to authorized systems only
  • We retain data only for as long as necessary to operate the service or meet legal obligations

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of your PayHajj account
  • Request access to non-sensitive data we hold
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

Sensitive identity data must be managed directly with Veriglobe or Paystack, as PayHajj does not hold it.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
